Open-Source Excel AI Agent Automates Spreadsheets via MCP

SylvianAI has open-sourced sv-excel-agent, a project leveraging LLMs to automate Excel spreadsheets.
The repository consists of two core components:
- Excel MCP Server: Provides tools to let LLMs read, edit, and automate spreadsheets.
- Excel Agent Runner: Executes the agent logic.
It includes integration examples for both web apps and Slack bots. The developer also benchmarked several leading models using a verified subset of 50 examples from SpreadsheetBench (evaluating Pass@1). Users can reproduce these evaluations via the evals folder.
