Meta Introduces SYF: An LLM-based Agentic System for Real-time Conversational Recommendations

Meta proposed Shape Your Feed (SYF), an LLM-based agentic recommendation framework. The system allows users to express nuanced preferences in real-time via text prompts, voice commands, and UI interactions for multimodal co-curation of feeds.
SYF employs a three-tier architecture: a Perception Flow capturing user intent, a Serving Flow performing real-time re-ranking and pruning, and a Self-Evolution Flow aligning with human judgments via Direct Preference Optimization (DPO). Large-scale A/B tests show the system significantly reduces post dismissals and dislikes.
