Open-Sourcing a 1MB 3D Web Experience Built with Claude Opus
moeinteractive · x · 2026-08-10
Designer MengTo open-sourced Kage, a high-quality 3D scrolling landing page. By replacing traditional videos with 3D scenes, the project keeps the total size under 1MB (3MB with HQ images), significantly smaller than the 20-100MB typical of 1080p video sites.
Build Workflow:
- Core code generated using Claude Code (desktop) with the Opus 5 model.
- Images created with Higgsfield, with manual prompt tuning for textures, lighting, and alpha masking.
Open-Sourced Assets:
- Full website source code.
- Three reusable skills: build-threejs-scroll-worlds, falling-leaves, and pointer-trail-emitter.
