Goodbye Idle Fees: Google RAG Engine Launches Affordable Serverless Mode

A developer reported that testing the Google RAG Engine previously incurred a hefty $40/day idle fee due to the mandatory premium Spanner service.
Google has now introduced a much cheaper Serverless deployment mode. This new mode eliminates infrastructure management and uses the RAG-managed Vector Search as the default database, significantly lowering onboarding and trial costs.
