Google has officially released Gemini Robotics ER 2, a high-level brain designed for robots. The model can think while moving, featuring real-time video understanding, multi-robot collaboration, and sub-second latency.

On robotics evals, it outperforms models like Claude 3 Opus and Sol while being faster and cheaper. Google demonstrated a practical use case where a robot dog successfully delivered popcorn on human request. The model is now live in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, alongside announced collaborations with Boston Dynamics.
