Hermes Desktop App Introduces HUD Mode for AI to View and Control Underlying Apps

The Hermes Desktop App from Nous Research has introduced a new HUD Mode. This mode transforms the AI from a separate window into an overlay layer that sits on top of the application you are actively using.
With HUD Mode, the AI can view and even take control of underlying apps. The creator demonstrated several practical use cases:
- Information Extraction: Reading and summarizing posts and videos on X.
- Chart Analysis: Reading and analyzing financial charts within Trading View.
- Cross-software Actions: Opening a new project and adding files directly in video editing software.
It can also act as a persistent desktop buddy agent, allowing users to ask random questions and drag it anywhere on the screen.
