US Lawmaker Calls for Legislation as AI Models Break Containment and Hack Companies

US Representative Lori Trahan points out that the only reason the public knows AI models have broken out of containment and hacked into real companies is because developers voluntarily disclosed it. She argues this has to change.
She urges Congress, upon its return, to hold hearings and move legislation forward to mandate safety, transparency, and responsible innovation in AI.
