AI Inference Shifts to Dense Small Hardware, Overestimating Data Center Demand

As AI inference becomes dramatically faster, more specialized, and physically dense, workloads that once required large GPU systems are increasingly being compressed into smaller devices using far less power and cooling.
This does not mean hyperscale data centers will disappear, but the market may be dramatically overestimating the land and conventional facility space required per unit of future inference. While prime sites with firm power and grid interconnection remain valuable, a lot of speculative data center demand could take a hit.
