Stripe's Patrick Collison: Don't Fear AI Giants, Big Companies Can't Chase 100 Priorities

Stripe founder Patrick Collison argued at YC's Startup School that founders' fear of AI labs is overblown.

He recalled similar fears about Google 20 years ago, noting that Google ultimately didn't build most of what people expected. The reason is that no company can chase 100 priorities at once without internal team friction slowing everything down.

While acknowledging that better AI models will wipe out some products, he emphasized that the threat is far less severe than founders believe.
