Developer fan-ziqi has open-sourced Robot Viewer, a Three.js-based web 3D viewer for robot models on GitHub.
The tool allows users to visualize, edit, and simulate robot models directly in the browser without any local installation required. All processing happens client-side, ensuring that model data never leaves the user's device.
Key Features & Supported Formats:
- Format Compatibility: Supports URDF (Unified Robot Description Format), ROS Xacro (with macro expansion and conditional logic), Mujoco XML, and partial USD support.
- Visualization Tools: View collision geometries, inertia tensors, center of mass, coordinate frames, and joint axes.
- Robot Types: Currently supports serial robot structures (parallel robots are not yet supported).
