A developer discovered an unconventional workflow for MiniMax H3: by setting the output resolution to an extremely low 32x32, the model can be repurposed as a near-realtime audio generator.
On an RTX 5090, the generation speed for such low-resolution video is so fast that the output audio duration often exceeds the compute time. The author noted that audio quality is not linked to image quality. This makes the model highly effective as a foley generator, allowing users to rapidly produce desired sound effects or voice clips to use as reference audio in subsequent workflows.
Experiments also showed that if the generation duration exceeds 40 seconds, the coherence of the dialogue degrades, turning into gibberish after 60 seconds.
