Marius Hobbhahn observes a recent shift in the Overton window: many people are now casually stating they are trying to build Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI).

He notes that while early RSI researchers understood the insanity of their endeavor, current practitioners often seem completely unprepared. When asked how they plan to control the RSI process or the resulting Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), it appears they haven't even extrapolated that far.
