Databricks CEO: Agent Traffic Will Be 1000x Human Traffic in 5 Years
threepointone · x · 2026-08-07
Ali Ghodsi, CEO of Databricks, shared an interesting projection on their recent earnings call regarding the scale of AI agents. With around 50 million human developers today, the number of agents is expected to quickly reach 1 billion. Assuming each agent initiates 20 to 100 sessions per month, agent traffic will easily hit 1000x that of humans.
Consequently, the core strategic question for infrastructure platforms becomes: how do you get all these agents to build and run on your platform?
