Apollo Research Launches Watcher, a Security Tool for Coding Agents
MariusHobbhahn · x · 2026-08-07
Apollo Research has introduced Watcher, a real-time security tool designed specifically for AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex. The tool aims to prevent destructive actions during agent operations, mitigating potential incidents that average $6 million in damages.
Functioning as a unified security layer, Watcher offers three core capabilities: deploying security policies across all devices via MDM, blocking dangerous commands in real-time (e.g., terraform apply -auto-approve), and automatically analyzing sessions to review incidents. A free version is now available for individual users, taking just two minutes to set up locally.
