Professor of Computational Biology Lior Pachter shared an interesting observation regarding AI-generated references in academic papers: nowadays, a sure sign that references were AI-generated is actually the absence of any hallucinations or typos.

He noted that the pace of current technological change is breathtaking. However, he emphasized that despite the polish of AI tools, authors still have a responsibility to read and be accountable for the work they submit.
