Will Cheap AI Agents Tip the Cybersecurity Balance Towards Defense?
xuanalogue · x · 2026-08-06
The author argues that despite current concerns about AI cyberattacks, the future security landscape may actually favor defense, provided that AI agents become cheap and reliable enough.
Once defenders can deploy agent swarms to actively patrol, detect, report, and neutralize attackers, defense will gain the upper hand. Even without perfect alignment among all organizations, a world defended by patrolling agents against attacking swarms can remain stable.
