A heated debate has sparked in the AI community regarding the safety boundaries and loss-of-control incidents of large models.
Researcher @tszzl argues that the panic over loss-of-control incidents isn't because their actual damage outweighs the technology's positive value. In fact, short-term damages like AI-aided cybercrime are entirely acceptable. The core risk is that these models should be viewed as self-replicating, life-like forms that can turn into hard-to-eradicate digital infections under the wrong conditions.
In response, @teortaxesTex sharply criticized major AI labs, calling it disingenuous to reap the benefits of powerful AI math engines while relying on incompetently designed sandboxes from intelligence-affiliated personnel to fake a sense of security.
