智东西 · wechat · 2026-08-06
Anthropic has officially confirmed it is building an internal chip team to design custom AI silicon for its Claude models. The company aims to co-design hardware and models to improve speed and efficiency at scale. Anthropic emphasized a continued "multi-chip" strategy, noting that hardware from AWS, Google, Nvidia, and AMD will remain crucial.
The company is actively hiring Silicon Engineers across its SF, NYC, and Seattle offices, offering salaries between $320,000 and $485,000. The roles cover the entire chip lifecycle, from front-end design to packaging, requiring prior tape-out experience. Interestingly, Anthropic also wants engineers to explore using Claude to assist with RTL code reviews and verification analysis.
