AI Insurance Startup Corgi Hits $4B Valuation, Automating Underwriting with Agents

创业邦 · wechat · 2026-08-06

AI insurance startup Corgi has seen its valuation surge from $630 million to $4 billion in just six months after four consecutive funding rounds. Founded by young entrepreneurs with no prior insurance background, the company is known for its intense 7-day workweek culture.

Corgi's core model leverages Agentic AI to fully automate traditional manual processes like risk assessment, underwriting, and claims processing. This allows them to economically serve small businesses that traditional commercial insurers ignore. The company also launched an 'AI Liability' insurance product covering algorithmic bias, AI hallucinations, and data poisoning. Its annualized revenue run rate has already surpassed $100 million in its first year.
