Meta Launches MuseCode: A Terminal-Based AI Coding Agent
机器之心 · wechat · 2026-08-06
Meta has officially released the beta version of MuseCode, its first terminal-based AI coding agent powered by the new MuseSpark 1.2 model. The agent can autonomously analyze large codebases, plan modifications, write code, and verify results, designed specifically for complex software engineering tasks like cross-module bug fixes and large project refactoring.
MuseCode utilizes persistent background agents to reduce latency and features robust long-horizon task processing and crash recovery capabilities. In several mainstream coding benchmarks, MuseSpark 1.2 ranks just behind Opus 5 (max), demonstrating Meta's determination to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic in the AI coding track.
