Indie Dev Uses AI to Design Circuit Boards, Aims to Crack Production and Sell Hardware
pramodk73 · x · 2026-08-06
An indie developer shares their experience successfully designing a power board with AI assistance. They note that the main challenge in hardware isn't the electronics itself, but the logistics around it: parts, footprints, fab, assembly, and production pipeline costs.
By leveraging LLMs for learning and design, they completed a prototype they couldn't have done otherwise and gained a much better grasp of electronics. Their next goal is to crack the production line and eventually sell cool hardware products.
