PrimeIntellect Launches Prime Agent: An Open-Source Self-Improving Coding Agent
andersonbcdefg · x · 2026-08-06
PrimeIntellect has released Prime Agent, a new coding agent designed for coding and long-running autonomous tasks. The agent focuses on being token-efficient and highly expressive, featuring:
- Programmatic Tool Calling: Treats context as a variable and supports multi-agent messaging.
- Persistent Kernel: Offers a persistent IPython kernel across compaction cycles for long-term memory.
- Self-Improving Mechanism: Includes a continual harness where the model has programmatic access to edit its own harness and skills, enabling self-modification.
- Subagent Daemon: Provides a subagent daemon along with a dedicated UI.
