Amazon CEO Expects $220B CapEx in 2026, Says Capacity Still Won't Meet AI Demand

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that the company now expects to spend approximately $220 billion in cash capital expenditures in 2026. This estimate has been revised up from a prior forecast of around $200 billion, primarily driven by rising memory costs.

Jassy emphasized that even with this massive level of investment, Amazon will still lack sufficient capacity to meet all of the demand it anticipates for 2026. This highlights the ongoing, intense supply-and-demand imbalance in AI compute infrastructure.
