You.com Launches Answer API with Built-in Citation Verification at 93% Accuracy
PolarBearby · x · 2026-08-06
You.com has introduced its new Answer API. Unlike typical grounded answer APIs that simply trust the model's generated citations, this API verifies every citation against the original source text before delivering the result, including the exact quotes used.
According to the company, the API achieves 93.48% accuracy with a p50 latency of 2.67 seconds. Priced at $5 per 1,000 calls, it is designed for queries that require quick answers rather than a deep, multi-source dive.
