Proxmox VE Officially Supports ARM64, Enabling Mixed Architecture Clusters

Virtualization platform Proxmox VE has announced its first official support for a second CPU architecture: 64-bit ARM (arm64/aarch64).
Key Updates
- Unified Codebase: The ARM64 version shares its codebase, package repositories, and release lifecycle with the x86-64 counterpart.
- Under the Hood: Built on Debian 13.5 "Trixie" with Linux kernel 7.0, shipping QEMU 11.0, LXC 7.0, and ZFS 2.4.
- Hardware Support: Fully supports NVIDIA Grace Hopper and Vera platforms; offers best-effort support for other UEFI-based ARMv9-A/ARMv8-A hardware.
- Mixed Clusters: Allows building clusters mixing ARM64 and x86 architectures.
Limitations
- Hosts must boot via UEFI and describe hardware via ACPI.
- Device-tree-only single-board computers like the Raspberry Pi are not supported.
