Marvell Photonic Fabric Wins AI Infrastructure Award for Scaling Inference
BenBajarin · x · 2026-08-06
Marvell's Photonic Fabric technology won the AI Infrastructure award at FMS 2026. The technology addresses pressing constraints in AI inference scalability, such as memory bandwidth and data movement.
Traditional electrical interconnects struggle to support hundreds or thousands of accelerators across multiple racks. Marvell replaces them with optical I/O across package, server, and rack scales. This significantly increases memory bandwidth and capacity while reducing latency and power, enabling a disaggregated memory architecture.
