Developer Jason Kneen has open-sourced agensis, a shared workspace designed specifically for collaboration between humans and AI agents.

Core Mechanism: Instead of acting as sidebar tools, agents are "invited" into channels and threads like real team members, picking up tasks directly within the conversation flow.
Data & Costs: It runs locally via a daemon on the user's own machine, utilizing their existing model subscriptions. The platform charges only for human seats, offering unlimited agents (no agent tax).
