The Next AI Scaling Law: Letting Models Live Longer to Accumulate Experience
imjustnewatai · x · 2026-08-06
The author argues that current AI development is limited because models are 'frozen' after training, unable to continuously improve by remembering failures and building intuition like humans do. However, with the advent of reasoning, tool use, memory, and persistent agents, AI is beginning to gain a 'post-birth education.'
The author envisions future models handling month-long research tasks, improving their performance daily through accumulated experience. When these experiences are fed back into training the next version, recursive self-improvement becomes observable. The core thesis is that the next major scaling law might be how long an AI is allowed to live and learn.
