AskChem Launches: Turning 147K Chemistry Papers into 2.4M Searchable Claims

A NYU research team launched AskChem, a chemical knowledge index platform that transforms 147,000 chemistry papers into 2.4 million searchable structured "claims".
Instead of just returning full papers, the platform allows researchers to search for specific scientific findings (e.g., "Catalyst X achieves Y% yield under conditions Z"). Users can compare evidence across studies and even identify contradictions in the literature.
AskChem supports both text search and SMILES-based molecular structure search, organizing data into 10 hierarchical views including reactions, substances, and methods.
