Using Claude with Local ComfyUI MCP for Conversational Video Generation
EndPsychological8822 · reddit · 2026-08-06
The author shares a hands-on experiment integrating local ComfyUI workflows with Claude using the joenorton/comfyui-mcp-server. This setup makes the video generation process feel more conversational:
- Workflow: Users can simply upload a visual reference to Claude, which then analyzes the image, writes a structured prompt, and triggers the local ComfyUI generation.
- Model Testing: The author tested this setup with the recently released H3 Minimax Text-to-Video (T2V) model with good results. The workflow can also be adapted for Image-to-Video (I2V) or Reference-to-Video (R2V).
- Setup: It requires correctly configuring ComfyUI nodes and routing input/output folders. For H3 Minimax, the author used a 9:16 aspect ratio at 0.4 megapixels.
