Meta Launches Muse Code Terminal Agent and Muse Spark 1.2 Model
ren_hongyu · x · 2026-08-06
Meta AI Research has announced the release of Muse Code (beta), a terminal coding agent, alongside its powering model, Muse Spark 1.2. Muse Code is built to handle complex software engineering tasks across large repositories, including planning changes, writing code, and validating results.
Key Features:
- Async Background Agents: Maintains specialized background agents that stay active throughout a session to avoid redundant information gathering, reducing latency and the need for steering.
- Runtime Design: Uses a local event log for all operations, making the runtime replay-exact and restart-safe. It can resume long-running tasks precisely after a crash.
- Bundled Skills: Ships with default skills like /plan (approval-gated planning), /grill (stress-testing plans), and /goal (objective completion).
It is available for installation on macOS and Linux via a single command.
