Dev Builds AI 'Time Machine' That Sweeps Street View Across Multiple Years
Automatic-Highway-75 · reddit · 2026-08-06
A developer forked an open-source AI 'time machine' project. By dropping a pin on a map and selecting a time span, the model uses the first frame from a street view to generate a video bridging the years.
The system identifies objects that don't belong in the target year and edits them frame-by-frame based on historical context. It runs entirely in the browser with no backend. By editing the existing scene rather than compositing a new one, it keeps the viewpoint from wandering.
