Beware the Vibe Coding Trap: Over-reliance on AI Agents Leads to Tech Bankruptcy

As AI coding agents become prevalent, more engineers are outsourcing their thinking and planning to AI for faster shipping. However, experts warn that this out-of-the-loop "vibe coding" generates a massive technical tax.
If engineers completely relinquish control to agents for code generation and review, the final product becomes unrecognizable. When bugs arise, engineers rely on AI to fix them, but the loops fix bugs while creating new ones. Eventually, the system devolves into a state where no one knows what is wrong because the agent built abstractions only it understands.
Experts stress that amidst the hubris of the "don't look at the code" crowd, staying in the loop and maintaining human control is crucial to avoid digital bankruptcy.
