Cloudflare Proposes Agent Access Model: Enforcing Least Privilege for AI

Cloudflare introduced the Agent Access Model (AAM) to address the failures of traditional enterprise security when dealing with AI agents. Existing Zero Trust architectures assume human speeds and lifecycles, often granting agents excessive permissions.
Instead of making individual access decisions smarter, AAM focuses on shrinking the agent's capability surface. Core practices include minting task-scoped credentials that expire, enforcing egress policies, and automatically narrowing capabilities upon touching protected data.
