Investor Hints SSI to Release Model in August with Continual Learning Breakthrough

Investor Gavin Baker revealed in an interview that SSI (Safe Superintelligence Inc.), founded by Ilya Sutskever, plans to "come out with their model in August."

He hinted that AI labs might be on the verge of solving continual learning and sample-efficient learning. Instead of absorbing hundreds of trillions of tokens before deployment, future models could train on far less data and continuously learn from real-world experience post-deployment.

The original poster speculates that if true, this could be a controlled model reveal or research demo from SSI. The real benchmark will be the model's learning slope from day one to day ten—specifically, its ability to master unfamiliar skills from a few attempts and retain that knowledge.
