Developer Reverse-Engineers Kimi PPT Skill, Open-Sources Tool for AI Agents

dotey · x · 2026-08-06

Developer Binaryify spent several days reverse-engineering Kimi Slides' skill, PPTD format, and front-end communication protocols, releasing the open-source open-kimi-ppt-skill project on GitHub.

The project allows various SKILL.md-compatible AI coding agents (such as Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor) to generate, edit, and export editable presentations. Each generation simultaneously delivers an editable PPTD project and an out-of-the-box PPTX file (with embedded fonts and transition animations), along with a local browser editor. The author noted that using models like DeepSeek with this skill can achieve results very close to native Kimi PPT generation.
