Blogger Zvi argues that sincere disagreements about AI are fundamentally disagreements about future AI capabilities. He categorizes attitudes into the 'Three AI Pills':
- AI pilled: Acknowledging what AI can already do.
- AGI pilled: Believing AI will be able to do much more in the future.
- ASI pilled: Believing AI will be able to do almost everything better than humans within our lifetimes.
The author notes that he and a large percentage of frontier lab employees are ASI pilled, while the majority of the public hasn't even taken the first pill.
