DeepMind CSO: AI Infrastructure Spending Bets on Recursive Self-Improvement

Google DeepMind Chief Strategy Officer Jasjeet Sekhon stated in an interview with Berkeley RDI that current massive AI infrastructure investments are essentially financing a hoped-for "recursive self-improvement" loop.
He noted that if recursive self-improvement is achieved, the capability growth curve will become "hyperexponential." This serves as the core scientific and investment thesis driving society's current massive spending on AI.
