Google DeepMind Chief Strategy Officer Jasjeet Sekhon stated that the massive societal investment in AI infrastructure is essentially financing the hoped-for 'recursive self-improvement' loop.
He argues that once recursive self-improvement is achieved, the capability curve will go hyperexponential. This expectation serves as the core scientific and investment thesis driving current massive compute spending.
