Stanford Team Introduces GRAMMAR: Decoding Genomic Regulation with AI

A Stanford team, in collaboration with the ENCODE consortium, has introduced GRAMMAR, a new initiative leveraging AI to decode genomic regulatory codes.

While nearly all human cells share the same genome, they differentiate dramatically in form and function. The project investigates how this diversity is driven by regulatory elements—DNA sequences bound by transcription factors (TFs). GRAMMAR aims to determine which specific DNA bases and motif patterns influence the cell-type-specific biochemical activity of gene expression.
