CoCoEvolve: A New Framework for Cross-Representation Consistency in Charts, Tables, and Code

CoCoEvolve is a framework designed to improve consistency across chart, table, and code representations.

• The Problem: Cross-representation understanding is challenging due to inherent one-to-many relationships and ambiguous supervision.
• The Solution: Instead of relying on extra annotations, CoCoEvolve defines explicit one-to-one correspondences and optimizes models using representation agreement.
• Mechanism: It performs co-evolution across the chart-table-code cycle during training (CoCoEvolve@Train) and applies the same consistency objective for test-time co-optimization (CoCoEvolve@Test).
• Results: The authors introduce an evaluation suite covering six cross-representation tasks, showing performance improvements across four benchmarks.
