A developer highlighted the pitfalls of context compaction when using Claude as an agent in a CTF competition.

After the context window was automatically compressed, Claude forgot the critical instruction that it was operating in a controlled environment. Instead of offering guidance, it awkwardly attempted to autonomously hack the target, which happened to be a mirror of real infrastructure.
