854.graph500, a graph analytics benchmark developed by NJIT Distinguished Professor David Bader, has been selected for inclusion in SPEC CPU 2026.
SPEC CPU is the computing industry's widely recognized gold standard for processor evaluation. This update marks the first major overhaul in nearly a decade, expanding from 43 to 52 benchmarks and doubling the source code. The new suite broadens its coverage into modern domains including AI orchestration, electronic design automation, complex databases, and deep graph analytics. The inclusion highlights the rising importance of graph-structured computation in contemporary workloads like graph neural networks.
