Run Kimi K3 in Pure C: 2.78T Parameters on a Single CPU with 8GB RAM
gethackteam · x · 2026-08-05
A popular GitHub project named kimi-k3-in-c (1.9k Stars) demonstrates how to run inference for the 2.78-trillion-parameter Kimi K3 model on a single CPU and 8.24 GB of RAM.
Written in portable C99, the project requires no BLAS, no frameworks, and no GPU. A developer tried it on a 32GB Mac mini; while not the fastest, it proves the feasibility of running ultra-large models with extremely low hardware barriers.
