Why LLMs Struggle to Discover the Number Zero in Math Experiments
LakeBrenden · x · 2026-08-04
An upcoming paper at #CCN2026 highlights that while LLMs can make novel mathematical discoveries, they struggle significantly to discover the concept of zero in controlled training experiments.
The researchers will be discussing this phenomenon further at the conference's poster session.
