Observation: People Are More Honest with Voice AI Than Human Reps

A developer trialing CloudTalk's voice AI agent for missed calls discovered an interesting phenomenon: people are more honest with AI than with humans.

Users confessed their actual budget limits to the AI or directly admitted "I can't afford this right now," things they typically wouldn't say to a human sales rep (usually opting for "I'll think about it" and ghosting). Also, many people said "please" and "thank you" to the machine. The author suggests this might reflect our defensive mechanisms when interacting with our own species, whereas we lower our guard with emotionless machines.
