Eight Knot will demo ship autonomy and modular AI CAPTAIN at ROSCon JP 2026

Eight Knot says it will sponsor and exhibit at ROSCon JP 2026 in Tsukuba on Aug. 4-5.
At the booth, the company will demo its ship-autonomy stack with a model boat and present both:
- AI CAPTAIN System: a retrofit autonomy system for existing vessels, using camera, radar, LiDAR, and GNSS for perception, route planning, maneuvering, docking support, remote monitoring, and collision avoidance.
- AI CAPTAIN Module: a modular software package exposing functions such as control, localization, real-time routing, obstacle recognition, and safety judgment for OEMs and shipbuilders.
It will also give a technical talk on sea-specific autonomy challenges, including motion-compensated localization, vessel model identification, MPC, collision-avoidance planning, and field lessons from real deployments.
