A software engineer says heavy LLM use has started to feel psychologically sticky and possibly addictive.
They describe vibe-coding with LLMs as slot-machine-like, say it affected a couple of months of their life, and now prefer “pair research” or “pair programming” with the model to reduce the addictive loop. They ask whether others worry about long-term effects: using LLM phrases in their head or documentation, drifting away from human colleagues, and what this might mean for children, for whom the effect could be even stronger.
