Phosphene 3.4.0 brings MiniMax H3 to local Mac video generation with 64 GB RAM
cocktailpeanut · x · 2026-08-04
Phosphene 3.4.0 adds a second engine for local video generation on Apple Silicon: MiniMax H3, alongside the existing LTX-2.3 pipeline.
- H3 mode: supports joint dialogue and sound generation in text and image modes, including first-frame-conditioned character animation.
- Hardware/runtime requirements: the optional H3 pack is about 75 GB and needs 64 GB unified memory; the app will tell you if your Mac can’t run it.
- Measured render times on an M4 Max 64 GB: Draft 3s at 640×384 takes about 3 minutes; HQ 3s at 768×448 about 5 minutes; HQ 5s about 8 minutes; Long 10s about 36 minutes.
- The LTX pipeline remains unchanged, and the release is built on a PipeNetwork MLX port of H3.
