Hermes Agent v0.20.0 adds real-time voice, A2A support, and a rebuilt desktop platform
NousResearch says the new Hermes Agent v0.20.0 release turns Hermes into a more capable agent runtime:
- Real-time conversational voice with streaming TTS, barge-in, on-device wake words, and hands-free control across CLI, desktop, and audio-capable gateway platforms.
- A2A v1.0 support so other agents can discover Hermes and hand off work over a standard wire format.
- Signed outbound webhooks, smarter approvals, faster first-token latency, a stronger CLI workflow, and self-healing tools.
- The release notes also cite scale: about 3,650 commits, 1,400 merged PRs, 5,200 files changed, and 650+ contributors since v0.19.0.
The image highlights additional features like cited-source research, desktop sandboxed previews, local wake words, and “hermes-w” starting 8x faster.
